Ida Ring

The IDA Ring is fondly named after my Great Grandmother Ida Bell.
A proud Métis woman of Ojibwa, Cree and Orcadian descent. Ida's parents were active participants in the infamous Red River Rebellion at Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (their place of birth) under the command of Canadian Rebel Leader Louis Riel. Like other Red River Métis who had left Manitoba, Riel headed further west to start a new life, travelling to the Montana Territory. Ida's parents followed, eventually settling in Choteau District, Montana, USA. An oral history of these events, the proud traditions of my family as well as thorough research on my fathers part has provided me great insight into Ida's life and her brave history.

The IDA Ring features a small hand clasping a Clear Quartz crystal. Some believe Clear Quartz draws off negative energy, balances and revitalizes the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes.
This ring is a part of our BARBER X COAD Collection. Each piece is cast in reclaimed sterling silver, hand carved, hand cast & hand crafted in the JEX Studio.

* Making each piece by hand means they each have very slight differences between them. I feel that this character makes each even more special as they are truly one of a kind just like the wearer.
